Fashion 4 Ukraine: A Night of Style, Elegance, and Support for a Worthy Cause

On a vibrant evening in TriBeCa, the Mriya Gallery hosted a fashion spectacle that was more than just a celebration of beauty and creativity—it was a show with heart and purpose. "Fashion 4 Ukraine," organized by entrepreneur and fashion model Olga Ivanidi, in collaboration with actor and designer Peyton North, was a breathtaking event benefiting the Bird of Light Foundation, which helps children affected by the war in Ukraine. The night was a moving testament to the power of fashion to inspire and support humanitarian causes.

The star-studded guest list included Ukrainian-American Ms. Ukraine World 2024 Anhelina Smith, who dazzled with her presence, and celebrated New York-based photographer and Senior Contributor for Livein Magazine Joseph Fraia. Fraia, known for his fine-art photography, expertly captured the essence of the event with his exclusive images, which will be featured in the upcoming prestigiouspaper edition of Livein Magazine.

In a venue packed with influencers, fashion enthusiasts, and jetsetters, the display of fashion creations was truly mesmerizing. The collection reflected a deep admiration for traditional femininity, with each designer offering a fresh, almost romantic, valorization of feminine beauty and seduction. Let’s take a closer look at the standout collections of the night.

KOHAY by Valeriia Yamshchykova

KOHAY opened the show with a masterclass in juxtaposing sharp, modern lines with fluid femininity. Their designs played with structure and softness, balancing edginess with grace, and stood out for the earthy, raw colors that looked coming straight from the Amazon jungle. The brand’s ability to turn traditional silhouettes into modern, powerful statements made it a favorite among the audience, along with its attention to the environment: the entire collection was made with faux leather and ethically sourced.

OLENA NEW YORK

OLENA NEW YORK, a renowned and beloved Ukrainian brand of the Big Apple brought its famous timeless and distinctive vintage style to the show, blending traditional Ukrainian motifs with contemporary urban fashion. The beautiful dresses, a real first-timer for her (being a second generation tailor) were paired with the classy and edgy purses, clutches, and pocket books she became famous for. The use of sophisticated fabrics and bold, geometric patterns spoke of cultural pride, while the clean, chic lines of the garments felt perfect for the fanciest parties of New York. The collection was a reminder of the beauty that can be born from blending heritage with modern design.

Peyton North: L!ViN THE DREAM

Actor and painter-turned-designer Peyton North’s collection, "L!ViN THE DREAM," was exactly that—a dream. North's signature style, known for its easy elegance and laid-back charm, was on full display. Blazers with unique and original hand-painted art, strong colors, and sharp cuts reflected a deep appreciation for effortless beauty. Each piece radiated a timeless appeal that felt wearable yet luxurious, with hints of Hollywood glamour and hip hop vibe.

KATERYNA

KATERYNA was arguably the showstopper of the night. This collection - 100% handmade in Ukraine - exuded ethereal beauty, with flowing dresses in various delicate tones of white, cream, beige, and hand-embroidered details that took the audience’s breath away. Kateryna’s vision of femininity was soft yet powerful, and the romantic silhouettes were balanced by an attention to structure that made the garments both beautiful and wearable. This collection stood out for its artistic interpretation of elegance, femininity, and timeless beauty. After a hiatus of 8 years, KATERYNA has produced her Reborn collection out of a creative impetus, without sketches and mockups, and using exclusively upcycled materials.

Anna YUDAEVA Couture

Anna YUDAEVA brought couture-level artistry to the runway with designs that dazzled in their meticulous construction and imaginative use of materials. The collection featured creation inspired by European royal fashion of the 17th and 18th century. Her gowns, often featuring dramatic silhouettes, intricate beadwork, and sculptural elements, were red-carpet worthy. YUDAEVA’s ability to mix drama with elegance was nothing short of inspiring, a fitting tribute to haute couture.

OLYA MAK

OLYA MAK’s collection of wedding dresses brought a touch of bohemian whimsy to the event. Known for her carefree yet polished designs, her pieces featured flowing fabrics and a sense of playful femininity for the day that is most important in a woman's life. The elegant materials and meticulous embroderies made it feel like a perfect collection for the free-spirited bride who still loves a romantic look.

Ira Lysa

Ira Lysa’s designs took a bold, modern approach to femininity. With structured silhouettes and top-quality linen fabrics, her ready-to-wear collection celebrated the strong, independent woman who wants too look edgy and beautiful at work, going out, or for a special occasion. Her pieces had a futuristic edge, with glossy fabrics and unconventional cuts making a statement on the runway.

RAVEN

The show was the launch of the Ukrain outwear and urbanwear, Raven, an occurrence that was kept ultra secret to surprise the audience. RAVEN’s collection was dark, moody, and unapologetically daring. It offered a gothic twist on contemporary fashion, with dramatic use of military suits, traditional Ukrainian symbology, and an aura of mystery. The theatricality of RAVEN’s pieces created a striking contrast to the more ethereal designs of the evening, ensuring they left a lasting impression.

Lisa Marie LM.INK

Lisa Marie of LM.INK is a renowned fashion model and an internationally acclaimed musician and singer, who brought a youthful, streetwear-inspired energy to the runway. With bold graphics, oversized silhouettes, and a rebellious spirit, the collection felt fresh and modern. LM.INK was a clear favorite among younger attendees, who admired the brand’s unapologetic individuality and cutting-edge style.

SARASVATY LINGERIE

SARASVATY LINGERIE was a colorful, extravagant, and boombastic addition to the show with its original underwear and costumes, an explosion of positive energy. The collection featured beautifully crafted lingerie pieces that combined originalitywith sensuality. Soft lace, intricate detailing, and flattering cuts highlighted femininity and masculinity while offering comfort. It was a reminder that lingerie can be both a personal expression of beauty and an empowering form of self-love.

And the winner is…

In a night filled with memorable collections, Kateryna was the standout. Her ability to balance romantic, dreamy designs with practical wearability made her collection unforgettable. The delicate craftsmanship, combined with a strong artistic vision, allowed her garments to transcend the runway and speak directly to the audience’s hearts. The collection’s soft tones, intricate hand embroidery, and timeless elegance made it a true masterpiece of the evening.

"Fashion 4 Ukraine" was a night to remember, not just for the stunning designs but for the meaningful cause behind it. Each designer brought something unique to the table, but it was Kateryna that left a lasting impact, embodying the spirit of the event—beautiful, powerful, and filled with purpose.

It was really refreshing to see pure and authentic femininity celebrated again, and men's charm unapologetically displayed, thanks to talented designers, gorgeous models, and an impeccable production by Olga Ivanidi and Peyton North.

We can't wait to attend the next Fashion Week.
