DUMBO DROP: Flying Elephants in Brooklyn

FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2024: DUMBO DROP ON WASHINGTON STREET 

Thousands of Toy Elephants To Parachute from Rooftops Surrounding Brooklyn’s Most Iconic Street! Elephant Drops Take Place at 5pm and 7pm

DUMBO,  Brooklyn (April 29, 2024) — One of Brooklyn’s most iconic experiences, the annual Dumbo Drop—a flying elephant fundraising spectacle—will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024 with two drops of thousands of parachuting toy elephants from the rooftops surrounding Washington Street at 5pm and 7pm. All individuals ages 2 and older are required to purchase a viewing ticket to witness the Drop.

Tickets begin at $15, and include a souvenir toy elephant, a guaranteed spot to view the Drop on the block of Washington Street between Front Street and Water Street, and an entry into that Drop’s prize sweepstakes. Drops are ticketed separately.

Significant neighborhood prizes for winners include: a six-month family membership to Life Time Dumbo ($4,000 value), a two-night stay at 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge plus dinner at The Osprey ($2,000 value), a $500 Dumbo Shopping Spree, a ten-pack of classes to Ritual Moves ($400 value), and tabs at Gair, Joe Coffee, Salon Dumbo, and Dawn’s Til Dusk. Winners will be announced via email notification. Individuals can purchase viewing tickets online by visiting the link HERE.

Individuals who enter the sweepstakes do not have to be present to win. Proceeds from the #DUMBODROP support Dumbo’s Title 1 public schools, PS307 Elementary and The Dock Street Middle School. Each year’s elephants feature a uniquely designed parachute by a neighborhood artist. This year’s parachute is designed by Noah Lyon.

A FREE DUMBO ARCHWAY PARTY for all ages will also be held from 3:30 to 6:30pm. No ticket is needed for this area. Highlights include:-Kids Zone, featuring 30+ activities for kiddos aged 1-10, powered by Brooklyn Bridge Parents-Bedazzling Extravaganza, powered by Creatively Wild Art Studio-Beer Garden, run by The Brooklyn Flea-Taste of Dumbo, a Dumbo restaurant row featuring neighborhood restaurants offering delicious menu options.
